about

After a brief introductory A section, we move to a brief melodic three-part fugue, then back to the A section and finally out through a tentative chord.
This track was the last track composed for the soundtrack!

Originally, Threnody continued through this time with some strummed guitar chords and then joined up with End, but this section makes it more complex. It's very piano-driven, but the orchestra parts are written for a full string ensemble with some doubling (partly thanks to the ghost of Interconnect). One fun thing about this track is that it really mixes the sampled VSCO piano that's used for much of the first half of the soundtrack (e.g. track 5), and recordings of Grant Huang's electric piano - sometimes you'll just hear one without the other, and sometimes you'll hear both.

You can also listen to tracks 25 and 26 to hear some parts of how this cue came together.
